The Major Taylor Cycling Club of Virginia administration would like to wish everyone the happiest of holidays this season.
November 16th, MTCCVA will take the opportunity to celebrate the birth of Marshall "Major" Taylor on November 16th allow our members to spend time with our families during the holiday season.
On November 26th 1878, Marshall "Major" Taylor was born in rural Indiana to a black couple who moved North from Kentucky around the time of the Civil War.
Many of the Major Taylor Clubs across the country take either the weekend before or the weekend after to celebrate the birth of Major Taylor and by holding the MTCCVA event on the 16th if you are available you will have the opportunity to join District Collective Cycling, Brother to Brother Sister to Sister United, National Capital Velo Club, Black People Ride Bikes, Annapolis Bicycle Club, Sea Gull Century Committee or Velo City Riders all Major Taylor Affiliates in celebratory rides should they also schedule one. Reach out to us at mtccva@majortaylorva.org if you are looking to attend a second riding during the month on their possible scheduled date.
