Active Prince William

A group of concerned citizens formed Active Prince William in December 2015 to advocate for better opportunities, support, and infrastructure for active transportation and healthy lifestyles within Prince William County, Manassas, and Manassas Park. We are working to help make Prince William County ad Greater Manassas a more livable, healthy, equitable, and sustainable community.

Virginia Bicycle Federation

The Virginia Bicycling Federation (VBF) is a statewide advocacy organization working to change public policy and community attitudes, to improve the safety, convenience, and acceptance of bicycling, and to promote bicycling for transportation, recreation, public health, and economic development. The Virginia Bicycling Federation (VBF) accomplishes its mission through advocacy, legislation and education.

The League of American Bicyclists

We’re making biking an easier and safer option for more people, because when more people bike, people are happier and healthier, our communities are safer and friendlier, and our planet is greener. Together, we can help more people know the joy of bicycling.

Fairfax Alliance for Better Bicycling

The Fairfax Alliance for Better Bicycling is a volunteer-led organization working to make bicycling fun, safe and accessible for people of all ages in Fairfax County.  Since 2005, FABB volunteers have been an effective voice among Fairfax County transportation professionals, elected officials, community advocates and leaders.  FABB's capstone effort over the past few years has been the successful adoption of the County's Bicycle Master Plan and Map, which was approved in December 2014.  FABB works tirelessly uniting government, local leaders, bike organizations, and citizens towards a common goal of making bicycling transportation safe, accessible and commonplace in Fairfax County for all ages, abilities and skill levels.

Loudoun Bicycling Advocates Organize!

As Loudoun County has experienced rapid suburban growth over the past decade, residents have been regularly asking their elected officials for bicycling and pedestrian accommodations. Recent development has been auto-oriented, and many new roads were built without bike lanes or sidewalks. In 2003, the County adopted the Bicycle and Pedestrian Mobility Master Plan, whose recommendations have been largely ignored. The current Board of Supervisors, however, has shown interest in environmental and transportation issues, including bicycle and pedestrian mobility. Thanks to the W&OD Trail, Loudoun has a large contingent of bike commuters, such as the 100+ regulars at Orbital Sciences in Sterling / Ashburn. Moreover, recent County outreach projects and surveys have revealed that many Loudoun residents are eager to safely bike or walk to shops, work, schools, and recreation centers. This interest in cycling has prompted the formation of Bike Loudoun, a countywide network of bicycling advocates. An initial meeting in December 2008 was announced by email to Loudoun members of the Washington Area Bicyclist Association (WABA) and to bicyclists identified from recent County outreach. The group holds regular meetings at locations in the county, open to all.  Bike Loudoun’s short-term objectives are to establish a Loudoun County Bicycle Advisory Committee, convince the County to designate a competent Bicycle Program Manager, update the 2003 Bicycle and Pedestrian Mobility Master Plan, and include the latter as a component of the revised Countywide Transportation Plan.

Washington Area Bicyclist Association

WABA empowers people to ride bikes, build connections, and transform places. We envision a just and sustainable transportation system where walking, biking, and transit are the best ways to get around.

Bike Arlington

BikeArlington is Arlington County’s bike education and encouragement program. Our mission is to make it easy to get around Arlington by bike. Active modes of transportation, including walking, biking and rolling, are central to Arlington’s vision of an equitable transportation system that enhances the overall quality of life for those who live, work and play in Arlington County.

BikeArlington supports this vision by providing programs that support active transportation choices.

BikeArlington is a program of Arlington County Commuter Services (ACCS), a bureau of Arlington’s Department of Environmental Services.  ACCS serves people who live, work or visit Arlington through programs and services that are designed to encourage the use of mass transit, carpooling and vanpooling, bicycling, walking, teleworking and other alternatives to driving alone.
