Major Taylor Cycling Club of Virginia "Hains Point Excursion" on The W&OD Trail, and surrounding areas of Fairfax and Arlington and Alexandria Counties

Join MTCCVA at the Reston YMCA for a "No Drop" 60 mile ride to Hains Point in Washington DC along the W&OD, Custis and Mt. Vernon Trails. 

We will meet at the YMCA Teen Center parking lot at 6:30 AM

Wheels down at 7 AM east to Washington DC.

We will do a few laps around Hains Point before heading over to Goodies Frozen Custard and Treats.

This route is developed to ride 90 percent along the bike trails and is littered with rest stops, restrooms and rehydration venues.

*** Please, park in the lot near the Teen Center closest to the W&OD Trail for member visibility and access to the W&OD Trail.

Properly fitting and adjusted helmet
Cycling gloves
Protective cycling eyeglasses
Spare tubes
CO2 cartridges and/or bicycle pump, tire levers, patch kit
Operational safety lights
Water bottle(s)
Food: bars, gels, fruit, etc.
Identification (such as Road ID)

Doing a quick test of your bike to ensure that it’s in proper working order. In particular, make sure that brakes are working and that “quick release” wheels are properly secured will expedite the Ride Briefing.
